OVERNIGHT BAG IN A MINUTE
(The first time you prepare your bag it will take several minutes, however, by following the steps listed below - you, your spouse or close friend will be able to pack your overnight bag very quickly in case of emergency and it should have everything you need.)
Step 1 - Gather all your things together that you need for an overnight stay in the hospital or for a weekend getaway. (See list template. Travel sizes are best. Some of the travel size toiletries could be stored in the overnight bag without having to be un/re-packed all the time. Caution: When taking Perfume/Cologne/After-shave - you may need to check with medical staff before use in medical facility.)
Step 2 - Place a gold or silver star on EVERY item. (You may have to be a bit creative here, there may be some exceptions ie: with snacks/drinks. Using a permanent pen/marker, you can draw stars on the clothing labels if you need to or tie a ribbon around the hanger.)
Step 3 - Pack into bag (test run). Make sure everything fits into your overnight bag.
Step 4 - Prepare YOUR customized list. (can follow template below) Be sure to indicate what color star, sticker and/or ribbon to look for. If you think an item you’ve requested may be difficult to find, indicate possible locations or write more specific descriptions.
Step 5 - Place your list into a re-sealable sandwich bag and attach with a safety pin either to the inside or handle of your overnight bag.
You are now ready in case of emergency (or a surprise weekend get-away).
